Design and Construction
Building a Natural Swimming Pool can be extremely simple or overwhelmingly complex depending on the scope of your vision.
Natural Swimming Pool construction is broken down into the following phases:
Phase 1: Plan, Design, Budget & Permits
By now, you've got a Pinterest folder full of great ideas that all have elements of what you want, but no single idea completely fits your vision.
This is where our design team's experience truly shines, providing everything from sketches and rock samples, to a 3D AutoCAD designed project.
This is also where we find out what is possible within your current budget, with an eye to future goals to realize your ultimate backyard dream and ensure that everything is built in the proper order, adding the proper infrastructure during the build.
This phase is the most important, where small oversights could add up to extremely costly mistakes later on.
Phase 2: Survey Layout & Excavation (can include blasting)
Physical work starts!
Ground is cleared, and the pool is marked and laid out with chalk and string so you can begin to see what the final form of your pool will look like.
Phase 4: Liner Installation
Weighing hundreds of pounds, and costing thousands of dollars, these are not for the inexperienced. Any time you join two edges of liner, you run the risk of leaks, which will eventually lead to erosion and failure below grade. These mistakes are easily avoided by our experienced team.
Phase 6: Monolith Placement & Aggregate Fill
Depending on the size and access, crane trucks are utilized to sling huge boulders and slabs into position to create edging, height, and waterfalls. As tonnes of gravel or river rock are added to cover and protect exposed pond liners, the form of your dream is starting to materialize!
Phase 8: Final Landscaping & Planting
The final step, and one of the most important. We source our aquatic filter plants locally, with an eye to indigenous species to hit that balance between functionality and aesthetics. Our favourites are cattails and lilies, two of the best natural filters available.
From design to finishing work, we welcome the chance to work alongside you in whatever capacity you require as, after all, we're building your dream!
We appreciate that you may have skills and expertise in different areas of the process and we love working with new people, as we always end up learning something from each new perspective!
